Pick the Pros — Official Rules
The free NFL pick'em game on Take the Bet. Every NFL game. Every week. All season. Pick the winners.
1How to Play
Playing Pick the Pros is simple:
- Open Pick the Pros in the Take the Bet app.
- Select Picks to see the week's NFL games.
- Pick the team you think will win each matchup.
- Enter your prediction for the week's designated tiebreaker game.
- Submit your entry.
- Follow the games and check the Leaderboard to see where you stand.
- Come back the next week and do it again.
Every correct game winner counts as one correct pick.
The player with the most correct picks finishes at the top of the weekly standings, subject to the tiebreaker rules below.
2Making Your Picks
Each week, Pick the Pros displays the NFL games included in that week's contest.
For every matchup, simply select the team you believe will win.
There are no point spreads in Pick the Pros. You are not picking whether a team will cover a spread, and you do not need to understand traditional sports betting.
Pick the Pros may also display the percentage of players who have selected each team. You can follow the crowd—or prove everybody else wrong.
3When Do Picks Lock?
Each pick locks at the scheduled kickoff time for that individual game.
Submitting your weekly entry does not prevent you from changing selections for games that have not yet started.
For example, after the early Sunday games kick off:
- Your selections for those games are locked.
- You can still change selections for later Sunday games.
- You can still change your Sunday Night selection.
- You can still change your Monday Night selection.
Once a game's scheduled kickoff time arrives, your selection for that game is final.
Players are responsible for making or changing their selections before the applicable game locks.
4Weekly Tiebreaker
Each week includes one designated Tiebreaker Game, generally the Monday Night Football game.
Players predict the combined final score of both teams in the designated game.
For example: If you predict 47 points and the final score is:
Detroit 27 – Seattle 20
the actual combined score is 47.
If two or more players finish the week with the same number of correct picks, the player whose tiebreaker prediction is closest to the actual combined final score ranks higher.
It does not matter whether the prediction is over or under the actual score. Only the difference matters.
If players remain tied after applying the weekly tiebreaker, the player who submitted their weekly entry first ranks higher.
For an NFL week when the designated tiebreaker is not a Monday Night game, another game may be identified as that week's Tiebreaker Game.
5Weekly Leaderboard
Every Pick the Pros player competes against the Take the Bet community each week.
Players are ranked according to the number of NFL games they correctly pick, subject to the weekly tiebreaker rules.
The Leaderboard allows players to follow:
- Weekly standings
- Previous weekly standings
- Their own ranking
- Other Pick the Pros players
- Season standings
Standings may change throughout the week as NFL games are completed and results are recorded.
6Weekly Chip Prizes
The top three players each week receive TTB chips:
Weekly ties are resolved according to the Weekly Tiebreaker rules above.
7The Season Competition
Pick the Pros isn't just about having one great week.
Results accumulate throughout the NFL season, creating a separate Season Leaderboard.
Your total number of correct picks determines your position in the season standings.
Season Chip Prizes
8Season Standings Tiebreaker
If two or more players finish the season with the same total number of correct picks, the tie will be broken in the following order:
1. Most Weekly Wins
The player who finished first in the most individual Pick the Pros weeks ranks higher.
2. Earliest Initial Submission
If the players remain tied, the player who submitted their first Pick the Pros entry of the season earliest ranks higher.
9Create a Group & Challenge Your Friends
Think you're better at picking NFL winners than your friends?
Don't just tell them.
Pick the Pros allows players to create private Groups and compete directly against friends, family, coworkers, fantasy-football leagues, sports-bar groups or anyone else they want to challenge.
You still participate in the overall Pick the Pros competition. Your Group simply gives you another leaderboard where you can compete against people you know.
Creating a Group
From Pick the Pros:
- Select Groups.
- Select Create Group.
- Give your Group a name.
- Create the Group.
- Invite your friends.
- Make your picks and see who actually knows football.
The Group creator can invite additional players after the Group has been created.
10Inviting Players to Your Group
Group creators can invite other players using the invitation options available within Pick the Pros.
Available invitation options may include:
- Sending an invitation directly.
- Sharing an invitation using your phone's normal sharing options.
- Sending a Group Code.
- Copying the Group Code and sharing it yourself.
If your friend already has Take the Bet, they can use the invitation or Group Code to join your Group.
If they don't have Take the Bet yet, invite them to download the app, create an account and join your Group.
11Joining a Group
If another player invites you to a Pick the Pros Group, follow the instructions included with the invitation.
Players can also join using a Group Code:
- Open Take the Bet.
- Go to Pick the Pros.
- Select Groups.
- Select Join Group.
- Enter the Group Code.
- Join the Group.
Once you join, your Pick the Pros results will appear in that Group's standings.
You do not need to make separate picks for each Group.
Your same weekly Pick the Pros selections count toward the overall competition and the private Groups you have joined.
12Group Standings
Private Groups give you your own competition within Pick the Pros.
Group members can compare their performance and see who knows football best.
Players can view Group standings for individual weeks as well as season performance.
At launch, private Groups are for competition and bragging rights. Winning a private Group does not result in a separate TTB chip prize unless Take the Bet specifically announces a Group promotion or prize.
13Can Other Players See My Picks?
Your selections for upcoming games are kept private from other players.
Other Group members cannot see which team you selected for a game that has not yet been played.
Once a game has been completed, players may see the selections and results associated with that completed game.
This allows you to compare picks and results with your friends without revealing your selections for games that are still waiting to be played.
14History & Previous Weeks
Players can use History and the Leaderboard to look back at previous weeks and see how they performed.
Available information may include:
- Previous picks
- Correct and incorrect selections
- Final game results
- Weekly record
- Weekly finishing position
- Tiebreaker result
- TTB chips earned
- Previous weekly leaderboards
- Season standings
15Pick Reminders
Where available, Pick the Pros may allow players to request a reminder before the week's games begin.
Players should make sure notifications are enabled for Take the Bet on their device if they want to receive available push notifications.
Reminders are provided as a convenience only. Players remain responsible for submitting and changing their selections before each game's scheduled kickoff.
16One Entry Per Player
Each registered Take the Bet player may participate with one Pick the Pros entry per week.
The same weekly selections are used for the overall Pick the Pros competition and any private Groups in which the player participates.
Creating or joining multiple Groups does not create additional Pick the Pros entries.
17TTB Chips & Free-to-Play Status
Pick the Pros is part of Take the Bet, a free-to-play social sports prediction game.
TTB chips are virtual in-game items.
TTB chips have no cash value and cannot be redeemed, withdrawn or exchanged for cash or monetary prizes.
Players do not wager real money to participate in Pick the Pros, and Pick the Pros prizes are awarded solely in TTB virtual chips.
18Official Results & Scoring
Official game results used by Take the Bet determine Pick the Pros scoring.
Take the Bet may correct scores, standings, statistics or chip awards when reasonably necessary because of data-feed errors, scoring errors, technical issues, official scoring changes or similar circumstances.
If an NFL game is postponed, canceled, suspended or otherwise materially changed, Take the Bet may determine how that game will be treated for Pick the Pros and will apply that decision consistently to affected players.
19Fair Play
Pick the Pros is intended to be a fun and fair competition.
Players may not:
- Manipulate or attempt to manipulate the game.
- Use multiple accounts to obtain an unfair advantage.
- Exploit technical errors or vulnerabilities.
- Interfere with scoring or game operation.
- Engage in fraudulent activity.
- Use any other method intended to obtain an unfair advantage over other players.
Take the Bet reserves the right to correct results or disqualify entries or accounts when reasonably necessary to protect the integrity of Pick the Pros.
